I've just become the proud owner of the above model and took a video just after Christmas. when I played it back the picture was fine but the sound is distorted. It makes a shushing noise as the button moves along the bar at the bottom of the screen, I thought it would be OK on the computer, but it's just the same. I then thought it was background noise at the time, but when I did another movie yesterday in a quiet room it did the same thing again. I've just done another one now in a silent area with just me talking to the camera. Same result. What am I doing wrong? All I do to shoot the movie is change to video mode, press the shutter to record and again to stop recording.
