Hi amiga, welcome to the Sony Forums

You can no longer connect these cameras via USB with the most recent iterations of Windows. Your best option is to use Firewire (i.LINK) which you hook up to the camera's DV-out port. Your PC needs to have a Firewire port; if not they are often cheap and easy to install.

Failing that, you will have to use the camera's analogue output, using the mini-jack to phono cable that came with the camera, plugged into some kind of video transfer device that will re-digitise the video. Obviously, going through these stages will incur a noticeable quality loss compared to a direct Firewire connection.

If you need help and advice setting one of these options up, just ask

Cheers
