Sports packs for HD Camcorders.

Before I upgraded to a Sony HDR-XR520 camcorder I had a Sony handycam that I used scuba diving with a Sony Sports Pack Housing.However even though I have bought a more advanced piece of equipment I find that I cant buy a sony sports pack for the newer camera.There are some available from the U.S but these cost 2 -4 times the price of the camera.Any Ideas.What have other owners done.All the best.Painterscrowbar

Hi, welcome to the Sony Forums

I think Sony have stopped making an underwater housing; I haven't seen a new model in some years and the handycam range has moved on quite a way in that time. It could be that they are concentrating more on core products, which would mean less popular accessories are being left to 3rd party manufacturers to produce.

The only well-rated and affordable one I'm aware of is Aquatix who make the Aquacam, and as you say, they aren't particularly cheap : http://www.aquatix.com/aquacam.htm
