Recording time

Why is it some Mini DV tapes display a recording time for each separate clip, whilst others just show a continuous time passage?

Hello wihanin - Welcome to the Sony Forums

Are you using the same MiniDV camera for all of these? I ask this question as it may have something to do with the way that the camera has been set up. If it is always the same camera, could you let me know the model number so I can check it out.

Thanks,

Simon

Hello again

Thanks for letting me know.

This may be a discrepancy that occurs when switching from SP to LP format as you record scenes. Are you always recording movies in the same format?

Thanks,

Simon

First time I've seen this. Interesting case. From what I know, it would always show continuous time. https://imagicon.info/cat/12-13/1.gif

Hi Simon, yes I always record in in SP mode.  It could be different brands of tape, but as yet haven't been able to prove it.

Once again many thanks for your interest
