Problem Number Two

Hi me again,

Well i am awaiting my firewire and pcmcia card so ican now import my videos of my 8 yr old when he was a baby only to discover that when played back there are 3 or 4 thick bold grey lines on the screen. I have recently purchased a sony head cleaner and used it at 10 sec interval for the recommended times but they are still there. Initially when i played back the video the stripes were not solid and some pixels (if this is right) were missing and they were not there all the time!!

Help please

It could be difficult to diagnose without getting it checked out by a technician.

The first step is to work out whether it's your tapes or the camera at fault. Try getting hold of another DV camera and see if the playback is the same: if it is, the tape is the issue; if it plays back ok, you need to borrow that other camera a while longer!

Hope this is of some help

Hi

Thanks for your help

Yippeee    Fortunately the problem has now resolved by using the 'tap method' (its all in the name :smileywink:)

Not sure how orthodox this way is but after using the head cleaner to no avail and trawling the internet until I was bozz eyed I found this thread that numerous people had tried the 'tap method' and had worked and hey presto me too!!!

Lets hope it stays this way

Thanks all
