my sony handycam DCR-HC30E is fast forwarding when I press play which means I can't record to DVD as it needs to play at normal speed in order to capture to PC. Anyone know how to fix this ???

If the physical buttons are not working correctly, it is possible that there is some kind of short circuit within the camera. Having said this, you may be able to control the playback directly from the computer that you are using to capture footage - this is usually possible when doing this over a FireWire connection. Most video editing and capture packages offer this function, and there is some kind of 'Play' button on the screen that will send a signal directly to the camera.
