I have a sony Handycam pj260ve, and when I looked at the Tech Specs of this camera, it says you can put it to mpeg 4, I am currently on pmeg2, how can I cahnge the settings from mpeg2 tp mpeg4???
You need a third party device to convert this. I think it's against forum policy to advert but just search Mpeg2 to mpeg4 convert on google.
Hello azeem123 - Welcome to the Sony Forums
austingrd is correct to say that there is third party software available - some discussion of these software options is usually allowed as long as it doesn't become overly spam like in nature i.e. twenty messages pointing a user towards a specific piece of software. Having said that, I usually only recommend freeware products wherever possible as nowadays, there is usually a free option for most PC based tasks.
Going back to the original question, converting MPEG2 to MPEG4 is possible with free software and there are various options available online. A good starting point would be this online article that covers five different free packages that are available:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fileextensions/tp/free-video-converter.htm
Option 1 seems to include support for MPEG2 and MPEG4 files.
Thanks,
Simon
