I have a camera that has only been bought recently. Whilst on holiday to Florida my Dad ttok it on a Water Ride and although he got it out of the way of the water (log flume!) since then when we open the Camera we used to see a picture straight away, now there is a grey screen.
It shows menu on the top left hand, shows the battery symbol and brings up the mic symbol, Low Light Symbol etc, but just a grey screen behind.
By pushing the top button to the left I can select through the options from the menu , i.e select shooting mode, Camera/Mic, Playback function , Edit/Copy etc,.
We seem to think as the screen is fine when playing back video it must be something simple??
Any help would be appreciated

We can even play video on playback function all ok, just cannot see a picture for recording????
