Hi nedapril, welcome to the Sony Forums

The 'E' suffix denotes a European version of any Sony product. The cameras are otherwise identical, although some may be set up for NTSC video (US version, for example) and of course the warranty may be difficult to claim on, if (for example) you buy a European model and use it in Asia.

If you have any further questions, just shout

Cheers

Mick

Hello again Mick, I still have my DCR-TRV265E  handy cam.. I now use Windows 7 and cannot use the 265E Handy cam because there is no driver available. my qestion is "will there ever be one and if not is there an alternative"

I would like to add that I bought the CX570E Handy cam and comment what a wonderful piece of kit..
