Hello there,
I have a Sony HDR-XR350 HD camera, very happy with the product. Now I need to connect an external microphone so I can record the actual speaker delivering talk as the camera will be mounted on tripod a few meters away from the speaker. How can I connect an external mic to Sony HDR-XR350 and which one would you recommend? PLEASE HELP
Thanks in advance.
Hi latifazhar, welcome to the Sony Forums
I'm afraid the XR350 has no input jacks of any kind.
If you want to use remote audio recording, the best option open to you is to use a basic MP3 audio recording device while you are filming and combine that MP3 track in the video edit.
Cheers
Mick
The XR350 HD has an Active Interface Accessory Shoe so you can use certain microphones from Sony, including one with wireless connection:

The ECM-HW2 seems to be a good choice for getting audio from a speaker when the camera is put far away.
Thanks cmosse (and apologies to latifazhar) I was thinking of another camera entirely :smileyblush:
