Yep, you will need either an i-link, firewire or ieee1394 (they are all the same) in order to connect the Handycam to your PC.

thanks, got  round it  gone through dvd recorder to burn some old tapes of the kids.

bit anouyed that sony have not made handycam compatible with winows 7 unless you

have a i cable input on your pc, which most dont  ,maybe thay want everyone to rush out and buy

new camcorders !
