I have a Digital Handcam DCR-TRV103/TRV110 and a dozen Hi8 tapes with footage on them, and am trying to paly them on my tv. Only my TV does not have a firewire input, just usb. Does anyone know how I can make this work? Is there a cord I can buy to or an adaptor?
Hi Jenn6790 and welcome.
First, if you have a HDD/DVD Recorder, check inside the front flap to see if there is an iLink/Firewire input. Most Video recorders had a firewire connection.
If there is no Firewire input on any of your TV equipment, you will need to transfer Video/Audio using an AV Cable - one of these will have been supplied with the camera and comprises a cable with 3 plugs on each end (Yellow = Video, Red + White = stereo audio). If your TV has these Y/R/W inputs use those. If you have a scart input, a simple converter can be bought cheaply.
Have a loook on Page 38 of your manual - if you have lost it, download it here:-

If you still have a problem, come back with a list of the inputs on your TV.
This is the cable you need:-

If your TV does not have an iLink input, you will need to use the RCA plug outputs from the camera instead. You do not need the iLink output from the camera in this instance.
