DCR-DVD200E. transfer movies to mac or pc help needed

I have been banging my head against a wall for ages with this problem. I have a new imac and a pc. Im just trying to get my movies off my camcorder and onto my pc/mac. It seems the software that came with it is only for XP and im running vista 64.

I would rather get them onto my mac because i want to edit them in imovie.

Bit more of a tricky one since these models were not designed for use with an Apple Macintosh system.

Ideally what you would need is some sort of DVD ripping software on your Mac to take the content of the DVD onto your PC then you should be able to import into something like iMovie.

You will need to ensure that you finalise the disc on your Handycam before trying the rip.
