Are Sony still offering the free CCD replacement for the DC-TRV245e
I should like to hand my TRV245 to my granddaughter, but unfortunately it appears to have a dead CCD. Does Sony still honour their commitment to repair/replace camcorders which employ CCD's from the affected batch?
Just had a look on the support site and it seems that CCD repairs on these products are no longer being provided as a free repair. I can assume a repair can still be done but might be best to consider going for a new model instead. Not sure how much the repair costs will be.
