A recent update seems to have stopped the bbc iPlayer from playing UHD programmes. They worked fine before the update late November. Anyone else had similar issues and found a fix ?

This may also be causing the issues, iPlayer technical are aware of this issue and so it appears are Youview, the latest version of Youview was part of the 6.4960 firmware update on my XG9505. Looking at the playstore Youview download now called LIVE TV & CATCHUP this paragraph is at the end of the description:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.youview.poa
"We are aware of compatibility issues with this app on some Sony TVs. If you have a 2018 / 2019 Sony TV (XG80 XG85 XG95 AG8 AG9 ZG9) it will not function properly. Please do not download the app until further notice."

Good spot! I wonder if uninstalling updates or reverting to a factory setting might help?

Just ended up doing a factory reset and things seem back to normal. Just hope the youview app doesn’t try and download the most recent version again. Cheers

I came across a post on AVforum from a guy who has recently purchased 49XH9505 and was testing its functionality, he commented that iplayer UHD did not work when his soundbar was on.
https://www.avforums.com/threads/sony-xh9505-owners-thread.2299499/page-138
My XG9505 is connected to an AVreceiver, so thought i would test iplayer UHD with the receiver off and what do you know it works. So now wondering whether this iplayer UHD issue is only affecting people with Soundbars or Receivers???

Hey thanks for this. Interesting theory, I’ll give it a go when I get home and see how it goes.

Interesting theory. I have the KD-48A9 and have no issues with UHD in iPlayer. I do not have any soundbar or amplifier connected to the TV, so matches the theory so far.
I have two devices connected - a Sky+HD box and a Panasonic DMR-BWT800 HDD/Blu Ray recorder
