I have a Sony Bravia KD-65S9005B and Sky Q.
I have just purchased a Sky Soundbox and the connections should be straightforward, HDMI from the TV to the Soundbox, HDMI to Sky Q, optical cable from the Sky Soundbox to the TV. I am using HDMI 1 on the TV. In this configuration I get no picture (TV) and no sound (TV or Sky Soundbox). If I remove the HDMI cables from the Sky Soundbox and revert to the HDMI connection between the TV and the Sky Q box and just use the optical cable between the TV and the Sky Soundbox I get picture and sound (TV & Sky Soundbox).
Sky has not resolved the issue and I have tried new HDMI cables. Are there some settings I need to change on the TV for the Sky Soundbox to work through the HDMI cable? I can get it to work with just the optical cable but I would like to know why I cannot use the HDMI cable options. Any pointers on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know that Sky Soundbox do not support HDMI ARC? it obviously need an optical connection in order to get audio back from tv.
