Hiya, my tv (kd-65xf9005) keeps showing the info bar and when it pops up the sound drops... It happens on ever HDMI port/device.
is there any solution to this?
Thank you you in advance
Hi there,
If you check the help guide for your TV here there are some guides for using the Menu Bar and/or Content Bar and adjusting settings. Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Ed
Hi @flunkyou2,
Just through curiosity, what type of device and model have you connected to the TV that is producing this problem? The way how to turn off the info banner completely is described on this post.
Cheers,
Dutchice
Thank you both for the quick fix but it's not really a solution to the problem if this is something Sony should be bug fixing...
This happens on the following devices:
Xbox One X
Apple TV 4K
Sky Q
Nintendo Switch
Never happens when i use apps off the TV though only through HDMI... It feels like they drop in signal and that causes the tv to think the input has changed or something like that.

Hi @flunkyou2
As this bug has existed for all 2017/18 Sony Android TVs for 18 months and Sony are fully aware the chances of a fix anytime soon is very remote. The “work-a-round” is to turn it off completely. The cause is when the audio format changes. For example if you change from a SD channel to a HD channel on Sky Q the info bar will appear (PCM to DD). If you search “info bar” on the forum you will see the extent of the problem. I formally reported it to Sony and got nowhere.
thanks for the info
i just turned it off, shame you have to do that with a new device though
