ag9 usbhdd

Hi, I have bought a Western Digital 1tb mybook AVTV hard drive to record through usbhdd rec port.

I have disabled youview, but there seems to be no record function on the AG9 TV even though it does has the usb record port and the buttons on the remote. Have Sony not included record on this model?

Hi @Torxx7 

Have you formatted the HDD for recording? I now have a Google TV so if I remember right look for Storage in the settings. The USB port should have HDD on it. Once a properly formatted drive is available then the Record functions should be available.

Hi thanks for your quick reply.

the ag9 only gives me options to format the drive for storage not recording . Recording is not an option on the standard tv guide

I have plugged the hdd into socket marked usb hdd rec.

Also I have secently seen a site saying that Sony have removed the record feature on the ag9 for the aerial tv tuners but dont know if this is true

I can record through my panasonic pvr but was hoping to use the twin tv tuners as well

Hey, you can check this link here if you can not register the HDD. You can check this link as well that will guide you through all the information you need for the USB HDD recording. You'll need to disable Youview on your TV to be able to record. I hope this helps.

Sorry for the slow reply, tried both links and still no luck, it recognises the usbhdd and formats it. but does not give any record option or register option

Maybe you're using a non compatible HDD? But I would suggest checking this link, it pretty much got everything related to recording through HDD.
