Hello,
I noticed on your product information website, that the new SLT-A65/A77 is not a compatible product for the SONY SAL-TC14 and SAL-TC20 ? This sounds very strange to me. Is there a firmware issue or just a marketing problem? As I know some people who have serious problems with there SAL-TC14 and the Minolta AF 200-APO-G lens but not with the Minolta AF 200-APO-HS-G, could it be a firmware issue with the A65/A77?
This lens combination works fine with any other Sony DSLR/SLT, but not with the SLT-A77/A65 ?
Any hint is very welcome!
Hello worinke
On the official Sony pages for these two lenses .....
http://www.sony.co.uk/product/dsl-teleconverter-lenses/sal-14tc#/Compatibles
http://www.sony.co.uk/product/dsl-teleconverter-lenses/sal-20tc#/Compatibles
..... the A65 and A77 are listed as compatible cameras. The layout of the website design means that these cameras appear underneath the previous models.
Thanks,
Simon
Hi worinke,
it's quite a while since you posted that, but maybe some of the information is still useful for you.
The SAL-TC14 & SAL-TC20 are supported by the A77/65, but e.g. when using the old Minolta lens like the AF APO 200/2.8 with the "new" Sony converters or the latest generation of Minolta converters, there are some compatibility issues.
Minolta AF APO 200/2.8 + SAL-TC14/SAL-TC20 is not recommended, because the AF is very slow.
Minolta High Speed AF APO 200/2.8 G + SAL-TC14/SAL-TC20 is fully compatible.
Michael Hohner has a great website with a vast database covering Minolta and Sony bodies, lenses, accessories, etc. Some information is in German, but most of it is in English.
Here is a direct link to a compatibility chart for TC and lenses, covering all Minolta/Sony combinations:
