Sony z3 compact xperia back and home button not working

I am using z3 for almost a year and dint have any issues. Since last two updates i am facing two problems.

1. The drop down notification menu does not displays properly when slided over from top to bottom

2. Back and home button works once in a blue moon. Previously they were working great. Now i will have to try for more than 25 times to make that happen or restart the device.

Please let me know if this is a software issue caused by the latest software release or is there a way to bring back the old version of software. Eventually i need a working software and not this piece of ugly software quality.

Please respond when this issue will be resolved.

1. I also restarted many times.

2. I have reset my mobile for factory settings.

3. Also safe mode also same problem.

4. When we lock our phone the same place touch working fine.

Dude, it's time to repair the phone. I had mine repaired and since it was covering warranty, had it replaced for free.

Same here: xperia z3 compact. For a week or 2 now, home/drop down/back buttons don't work when in Portrait. Only if I turn the phone in Landscape position they work. But not all applications are working in Landscape. I have to open a new app and close all of them after. It is ridiculous.

Repairisout of question: phone is out of warranty. Plus the Service guys will keep it at least 1 month, like the last time when the power button stoped working.

If it's a software issue, please release a new update asap.

My xperia z tablet has android 5.1.1 and kernel version: 3.4.0-perf-gbccb33a Fri Jul 10 (DOESN'T HAVE THE PROBLEM)

I bought my Sony Z3 Compact about a year ago and started to face The same problem exactly as already described since New Years'.
I'm in Brazil where I bought the cell phone and I'm pretty sure that our service centers won't be able to fix it. So my last hope is that hearing all these complains from all over the globe Sony hear us.

With "glove mode", it works better, but it's still very annoying.

I'm in Indonesia and my Sony Z3 Compact started to face same problem since new years. I try factory reset and it did not work for me.

I have already done all the process suggested but not solve the problem. Back button and Drop-down Notification are still not working.

My temporary solution is ...
1. Drop-down Notification : Settings -> Display -> Screen Rotation ->
- Auto-rotated screen : on
- smart screen rotation : on

2. Home & Back Button : Settings -> Display -> Glove Mode (On)
Note : press the button slightly below the icon

Still waiting for permantent solution.
