Advertisements in start up screen.

Sinds the last system update to build 32.4.A.1.54,  I am having ads in my startup screen.

This has never happened before.

The ads seem to be generated by Google,  and no matter what changes I make in the ad-settings, or the various app-settings, they won't go away.

I think that I have tried just about everything that I can think of, apart from a complete factory reset. I was hoping to avoid that.

Suggestions anyone?

Hi @Chromaphyo

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about that, can you show me a screen shot of the adds you are seeing so I can help out? Slightly_smiling_Face

@ChloeS

Thanx for your response.

The adds are nothing special as you can see. They are exactly the same as the ones that I get in various free apps.

What particulary annoys me is that I have to work my way through one, before I can even use my phone.

That seems to be a third party app acting up, try this

Boot in safe mode and report back, if you don't experience the same issue then it is indeed a third party app causing this.

@uliwooly

I have booted the phone in safe mode and I haven't seen the adds while in safe mode for several hours.

If you are right, and it is a third party app, then I have to find out which one.

Is there a quick way to go about this, or is it just working my way through every  app one at a time and see what happens.

There isn't a way to figure out the culprit BUT you could open the app drawer > menu > sort apps > by date

that way you can start uninstalling the newest apps first

@uliwooly

That is what I am going to do. It is going to take me a few days because the adds turn up at irregular intervals.

If this fails then I am going to reset the phone.

Thank you for your input.

Don't forget to share which app was causing the issue so other users could take advantage of the info

Sorry, my bad...

I started to remove the apps one by one, as suggested.

The adverts stopped appearing after the removal of KALENDER +.

I have replaced it by another scedular app and I have not seen any more adds in my startup screen,  and maybe I am just imagining things, but I am thinking that I am seeing less adds overall.

Thank you for your help.
