how do i uninstall apps i have downloaded

i have downloaded apps which i no longer want how do i delete them

If you got it thru the Market in the first place, go back on to Market then the 'Downloads' tab it gives you a list of all the apps you've downloaded. If you then select the app you want to get rid of it gives you the option to uninstall.

Another way of doing it, without going online, is to go to Settings - Applications - Manage applications.  Then select the application and select uninstall from the page that appears.  This doesn't work for many of the pre-loaded applications and demo games, which you are stuck with...

3rd option:

go to the menu

press the "option" or "more" button (the left of the three buttons)

Select "Arrange Icons"

The apps that you can uninstall will have a small white-on-red cross next to them. Tap the icon and the phone will ask you if you wish to uninstall the app.

ok then, I have got a different problem... I have uninstalled some apps I downloaded but in the menu I now go empty spaces. I looks really silly. Is there any way to get the icons arranged so I don't have empty spaces? Thanks a lot

When you have the menu screen press left key. option to arrange icons , not easy but can move around to cover spaces.

Hey Martin,  I'm always keen to learn new things but I can't find where you are when you say go to menu, is this from the home screen cos I don't get an option or more at that point?  Are you X10 big or mini? Sorry to be a bit of a thicko!!!

sorry for being not clear enough. My answer refers to X10 mini / pro. Don't know if it works for X10 as well.

With "go to menu" I mean when you are in the main menu, i.e. where you can access your apps, settings, album etc.

Thanks Martin... yup I have a big 'un so that explains why I couldn't make it work on mine.  Thought I was missing a trick, I like to fiddle and rearranging things would have appealed to my slightly OCD nature!

Thanks for the tip, but i must be a real dumbass as i cant do it. Am i supossed to tap and drag the icon? Its not working this way... and when i just tap it it switches to the Uninstal screen.
