NWZ-E454 mp3 player:
recently purchased this player and allthough it sounds "nice" it lacks punch and volume.
are there other people out there who have noticed this with this player ?
Even when volume and equalizer settings are at max its nowhere near as loud as My old sony mini-disc player
I use windows 7 media player software with this player and there doesn't seem to be any way of boosting the volume with that.
I would be grateful for any comments on this subject. cheers.
All recent Sony MP3 players in Europe have volume limiting permanently set with no way for the user to over-ride.
While this produces a reasonable output for pop/rock music, for classical music it's almost unusable.
And the way the volume is limited results in a "pumping" effect which further degrades the music.
It is possible to gain entry to the "test mode" but no settings can be altered.
The solution is to sell the Sony and buy another brand that allows some method to overide the volume limit.
thanks for Your input santacrunch. looks like the eurocrats are dictating what we do to our ears.
