Demo mode on Sony NW-A35

How do I get out of demo mode on the new Sony NW-A35?

Everything that I read (i.e., hold, press <<<<< ppppp >>>>>) online doesn't work because it was for old walkman models. I also tried to reflash the firmware, but that didn't do anything.

I got this unit off eBay, supposedly "new, never opened in box."
