Vaio VPCEB2Z0E Hardware Diagnostics Issue: (E-VIDEO-008)
Hi,
I have run the hardware diagnostics on my 'Video' in Vaio Care and it has returned these results:
= Video Test start =
Video Test #1 OK
Video Test #2 OK
Video Test #3 Failed
= Errors were detected. Verify that the hardware accelerator is set to the maximum value. --- (E-VIDEO-008) =
Firstly, how would I go about altering the hardware accelerator settings? What does this do? Also, would this error cause my laptop to freeze from time to time (especially when watching videos) where the mouse cursor, whole display and audio all freeze for a few minutes?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks
Joe

Joe did you ever get a response on how to fix this? I have a similar issue and was hoping you had got an answer you could share. My screen goes blank intermittantly - ran the diagnostics but failed all three tests and got the same recommendation with the Hardware Accelerator set to max.
If you had any feedback that would be great.
thanks

Hi, For Sony Caio VGN-515H the solution was to install Intel driver win2k_xp142550. Not sure if this works with other Sony models but if the graphics chip is Intel its worth a try. Tried Intel drivers 82915GM and GMA900 but they are not compatible. Regards, Q
