I just purchased new vaio with 60 Gb hard disk but what i see in hard disk drives the total for C is 32.6 GB & for D is 16.2 !! is this normal or something going wrong ???

You can account for approx 49Gb (C&D). The remainder is 7.5Gb for the hidden recovery partition and 3.5Gb for formatting.

So nothing to worry about HDD's, are always quoted by their unformatted size coz then they sound bigger
