Hi,

i want to upgrade the CPU (Duron mobile 1000MHz) of my FX 501(US-Version: FXA47), VIA Apollo KT133A chipset. Which cpu can I use? Has anybody here in this forum tried to upgrade their CPU?

You'll be lucky to find a Duron now, they're not being made anymore, but if you find a 1.2Ghz one, thats about all you can go to

That's wrong. The FX805 has the same board as the 501 and had a Athlon XP-M. And there are obviously people who even put a Barton on 501 motherboard...

Not more easy then. These CPUs are difficult to find.
