USB PORTS

I have a sony vaio PCG-GRT786M
It has 3 usb ports which are all faulty.
You connect a usb device like my broadband modem and it connects to my pc but then keeps on disconnecting.
This happens in all ports.
I noticed if you fiddle with the usb lead it connects and disconnects.
The usb ports are shot.
How do you replace them and with what.(do you need the whole lot ie tv out etc)
It looks like it's altogether.

IF it is the usb ports that are faulty, then an alternative to an expensive repair is a PCMCIA USB card, approx. £20, plus a hub if necessary.

I'm using a pcmcia usb card but wish to repair the laptop.
What would i need to repair,(part numers or a link to the item)

I have a feeling that this is part of the motherboard, but have a look here to see if you can identify the parts.
