My partner has a sve1513b4e vaio laptop which was working fine this morning he turned it off and then turned it back on this afternoon and is getting a message of operating system not found.
steps i have tried so far are:
1. Used assist to boot into BIOS which shows a HDD capacity so presuming this means that HDD is recognised.
2. Attempted the recover/maintain option in assist but get operating system not found when this is used
3. Attempted boot from UBS recovery media but this results in operating system not found as well
I'm really cant think of what else to try. I am unable to fathom why if the hard drive is recognised then why i cant boot from the usb recovery we made when the laptop was bought. I have checked the usb drive and the recovery data is on there.
Any suggestions before I ring Sony tomorrow for a warranty repair?

Hi simonpoole and welcome to the Sony User Community.
It looks like you have tried most things. If the Recovery Options will not work and the OS cannot be found, it sounds like a corrupted hard drive or some hardware connection problem.
Sadly, it it probably best to contact Vaio Support tomorrow and see what they suggest.
I hope you get it fixed quickly.
