Hi
My Vaio AR series laptop has just come back from being repaired by Sony but the same problem remains, i contacted Sony about the fan on my AR51SU which stays on all of the time and it never goes off, i said to Sony that after various bits of research by myself on various forums including on here Club Vaio and contacting Sony themselves initially i had been unable to find out once and for all whether the fan should be on all of the time on my AR51SU.
I eventually got an email back from Sony that said "The fan should NOT be on all of the time" on my particular model Vaio laptop, this is when it was arranged for my laptop to be collected and repaired in the UK by a company called Teleplan that must be a repair agent on behalf of Sony.
I got the laptop back and on the report sheet it said the main board had been replaced, the bios had been updated and the heatsink had been cleaned with fresh thermac paste applied.
I have to say the service from Teleplan was lightening quick, a courier collected my laptop on monday 18/5/09 at 4pm and it was delivered back to me on thursday 21/5/09.
Now Sony said to me by email that the fan on my laptop should not remain on all of the time, ive had it back from Teleplan with a new main board and the fan still remains on all of the time.
It says on the accompanying repair letter that "One of our highly skilled engineers has examined and fully tested your unit to make sure it meets the excellent quality Sony products offer".
Now the bit i don`t understand is that Sony themselves told me by email that the fan should not be on all of the time on my Vaio laptop but one of their repair agents (Teleplan) have let the laptop leave after replacing the main board with the same issue of the fan being on all of the time.
What do i do next ?
