Hi all
Could anyone recommend a replacement dvd drive for a s5xp.
My old drive failed so I purchased another drive from a broken s5xp on ebay- it worked perfectly for a couple of months and is now starting to fail.
I do not want to waste any more money on a matshite drive.
I made the mistake of buying a Panasonic drive from a jerk on tottenham court road one day- he told me to take the guts out of the new drive and drop them into the old housing. This doesn't work though as the original drive uses the base of the case for an extra pcb.
I was unable to fit the new drive as is because it is about 2mm taller and the holes don't line up- more importantly the orig drive has a tapered draw front.
Any suggestions???
