PCG FR415S DVD Writer - suitable replacement ideas?

Hi,
I have a PCG FR415S with a pioneer DVD writer.
All was well until about 2 weeks ago when my drive refused to write + DVD discs. It fails every time. I can write - discs ok and have tried changing my + media to no avail.
I have decided to replace the drive with a newer, faster model but want to make sure that it is compatible with my machine and that the bezel (front fascia) from my current drive will fit onto it correctly.
If anyone has any ideas on where I could check for suitable drives, or if anyone has any drives to reccommend please let me know.

I have a SONY DVD RW DW-U50A in my PCG-FR315S. It's not the fastest drive but it works fine.

Has anyone had experience of removing these drives? I tried removing the screws under the drive last night but it was still secured in place??

i have a PIONEER DVD DVR-K12D ... i am able to write DVD+R, using Nero but when I try to read the same it says "No Disk"

what could be the problem ?
any solutions ???

I had to buy a new drive. worked fine for a month then started doing the same thing. This laptop is useless.

Your new drive is under warranty for 1 year so call Sony... you should have it replaced for free
