My Dvd-RW has some problems, How could I do?

My Dvd-RW automaticlly upgrade and now I could not write DVD, I bought the Vaio laptop in march 2005, could I get the free repair or how should I do now? Thank you!

Try restoring the system to a point before you made the upgrade. Go to control panels/performance/system restore is on the left hand side

hi,

go to Run
Type : devmgmt.msc
next go to your DVD rom ( or any dervice you want to change )
and click on +
then right click on your choosen Drivce and go to properties
then see on top tabs
go to Driver Tab
then click on Roll Back Driver

I have already recoveried my system. But the problems still exist. I phone to the Sony-link e-service and they said they will collect the laptop and replace it. Is there anybody sent the laptop back to the sony? Is it safe ? Thank you!
