i have a K315Z laptop & one of the solutions to make the fan less noisy is to set the thermal control to quiet. but i can not seem to find this option in the power control power, does any one know how to do this

It is a redundant problem for sony's notebooks.
They are thermally bad designed and experienced always an oveheating. I know about ten persons whith differents models of sony's notebook who gradualy have the same problem.

These notebooks have a speed fan control and when it becomes too hot the speed increases... and the noise too.
The first symptom of overheating is actually the noisy fan that never rev at low speed.
The second symptom is unexpeted shutdowns when you are using a lot of cpu (gaming, heavy surfing etc ...) very very annoying !!!!
We are not alone in the world, if you google on this probleme you can find a site with an explicit name
