Is it sony or royal mail??????

hi i am not here to moan about sony i was just wondering if anyone elses here has had the same problem as me...................On janurary 17th(my birthday) i recieved a 40gb VAIO Pocket however after a rather drunken noght no more than 2 weeks late i managed to spill orange juice all over it:smileysad: so i sent it off to sony(via good old royal mail) to get it either repaired or replaced however i woke up 2 days later and to my suprise it had already been sent back to me:smileyhappy: however all was not as it seemed as i released the beast from the box to make sure it had been repaired not 1 single thing had been done to it so i phoned sony to see why they had not repaired/replaced it and they informed me that they had never received it so as you do i sent it back to them(once again via royal mail) and to this day i have not recieved it back or had anything to do with it what so ever and after numerous attempts at contacting royal mail and sony for compensation i have had no joy:smileysad:.So i was wondering wether or not anyone elses had experienced a problem like this and resolved it.IS IT SONY OR ROYAL MAIL THAT IS THE QUESTION.

That's a real bummer Febs.

I guess it's down to the Post Office but proving these things can be difficult. Did you send it registered post?

That sounds like Royal Mail to me,
if you can use a better courier like CityLink do so.

Hm. Two reliably unreliable companies, which to blame?

The eternal question.

Hard to say really, but you should have sent it registered post or whatever since it was an expensive item, the Royal Mail have records and so on and you're insured up to a certain amount so you should be fine.

If you don't register it they don't do jack about it, I assure you from experience.

For an item like that you would need Royal Mail Special Delivery as it's the only one that insures over £30

Recorded delivery would be enough to ensure Sony got a bollocking if RM say it was delivered. BUt yes, special d is the only safe way to transport expensive items.

All it takes is one dishonest person, thats why I'd get Special Delivery
