Hi rajivmaureen,

Welcome to Club vaio,

According to the specs for your Fe21B, your model comes with an internal microphone, is it possible this noise is caused by the microphone picking up the sound from your speakers...:smileyconfused:

rajivmaureen,

The problem you're describing doesn't sound like a fault with the laptop. It sounds to me that your problem is just that you have some application running which is activating the built in mic and routing the sound directly to the speakers - as Thalamus has suggested.

If so, the sharp noise that results at higher volume levels is just feedback - i.e. the endless loop where the mic picks up the speaker noise - feeds it back to the speakers - which feeds it back to the mic ..etc Gradually increasing to a high pitched whine.

Regards.

Try turning down the Microphone Volume.

Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Audio>Sound Recording>Volume
