Hi I am looking to buy a new sony laptop. I currently have a CS series but have had some annoying trouble with my fan and i think i need something a bit faster (gonna try a 64bit) and relyable. I use my laptop alot of design work (using photoshop etc). I have been looking at both the F series and the FW series and am not sure which one i should get.

I have heard that the F series had a problem with an annoying high pitched sound, does anyone know if this had been fixed? thats the only thing that is really putting me off the F series towards the FW series

Do any of you guys have any suggestions on which one i should go for? or if you think i should go for something completely different.

I hope you guys can help - i have been pretty unlucky with laptops that as soon as i get them i hear about the annoying problems that series has, so i want to be prepared this time

I've got the F Series, and it doesn't make any high pitched sound. It's actually pretty quiet. I think the F Series is the natural successor to the FW too...

I use it for AutoCAD stuff and it's great.
