DVD for Backup on PCG-Z1XSP

On my last To***ba laptop I used a DOS bach programme to backup files selectively to my CDRW and in a fairly automated way. i.e it would only overwrite altered or new files since the previous backup I want to now backup automatically and selectively to my Z1XSP DVD Drive. Unfortunately, DOS doesn't seem to recognise the E: Drive. Anyone have any ideas?

How about using Microsoft Backup?

Thanks for the response. MS Backup also fails to find the E: Drive. It firstly offers a memory stick (F:) and also E: When I select E: it says "Invalid drive". Confusing Huh?

Can you see the drive in My Computer?

Yes. And it works with Drag ' n Drop but this is very time consuming and can't be automated.

Hmm strange.

Maybe what you could do is get MS Backup to make the backup to 😧 and burn it with Drag 'n' Drop?

If all else fails then that may have to be the answer. However, the fact that the drive exists and Drag 'n Drop works OK I feel sure that there must be some way for this clever little machine to allow an old guy like me to perform this task simply!!

OK, I have another thing:
Open My Computer
Right click the drive and go to properties
Go to the CD Burning tab and enable CD burning for this device.

I checked and it's already got recording rights. I tried changing the write speed to X2 rather than "fastest" and this also made no difference. Curiouser and Curiouser?!
