Drivers after installing windows

Hi all,

I just bought a vaio laptop (fs315m). I also reinstalled it (i'd like to have my own windows installation instead of the standard vaio). The only prob is that my soundcard won't work. I tried to install the default drivers, but it didn't work.

I read in an other topic that installing the UAA etc driver first my resolve this problem (well, it was an other vaio). Only I can't find this driver in the standard pack. Maybe it isn't availible for the fs315m ?

2nd problem is that my function key isn't working anymore. I guess I need to install the SonyNC driver, problem is I don't know how ;). There isn't an executable in this folder and rightclick->install on the .inf file doesn't work neither.

Someone who knows how to fix this problems?

Hi habl and welcome to the forum.

The UAA High Definition Audio Class drivers do apply to your model. Visit Vaio-Link and download the Pre-installed drivers.

While there also download and install the Pre-Installed Utilities, this will correct the problem with your function keys.

I allready shut down my notebook. I did install the pre-installed drivers, but didn't expected it were the utilities that would do the trick. I will try it tomorrow afternoon. I only pressed F5 before shutting down my PC and going to bed

Anyway, tnx for your quick response!

The video chipset is the nVidia GeForce Go 6400.

The UAA High Definition Audio Class drivers are part of the pre-installed DRIVERS download (from Vaio-Link), this contains a folder named just that.

Hi, I installed the utilities now. The function key is working now, only my sound still ain't working. Also I didn't see the 'UAA' thing in one of the installations. What else I can do ?

Can anybody tell me what soundcard I have exactly? 😛 I'm trying to find a driver myself, but I only know that it's a realtek audiocard, but I don't know which type it is 😃

Edit:
I Found it! It was the ALC260, drivers can be found here! Btw, I don't speak polish either, but just click the picture that says pobierzplik 😛

For people with the same problem, download and install this driver and the sound is back on. If the link won't work later, try searching with google for wdm_r127.exe

Hmm, see my edit for a solution.

But I still don't understand the standard drivers. I installed both the packs completely, the drivers and the utils, and still no Audio.
