Hi everybody
i've bought a Sony VAIO PCG K215M a few weeks ago, yet i've got some doubts about the configuration.
Indeed the computer is supposed to be equipped with 512 mb of ddr sdram, but when i check the system information it says "448mb".Does anyone know why there is a difference of 64mb?
I hope i"ll be understood, since english is not my natural language!
Thanks to anyone who could answer to this thread.
Regards,
Benjamin
64Mb is being used by the video subsystem. You do have 512Mb.
And your English is as good as mine
thanks for the answer, but what the hell is "video subsytem"??
and remember

Basically, everything you see on screen is handled by the video subsystem. Each dot on the screen uses memory, and in your case, as a cost saving measure, the video card uses some of the system memory.
More expensive notebooks usually have video cards which have their own dedicated memory, these are normally faster than the shared memory option.
