Crackling

Hi there, after having the hard disk changed I hear a crackling from the hard disk. Is that ok? Or does it mean some misfunction. I think that wasn't with the former hard disk. Maybe I'm just getting too anxious because of the problems I had with the first hard disk. Thanks for your answers!

Hi

Some hard disks are quite noisy - so it's possibly normal.
Specially the Toshiba MXGAS series they were very noisy

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer! It's from Toshiba. It's just that before I never noticed any sound like a cracking or creaking. So I was afraid of a "mechanical" disfunction. See you, Elmar

If you want to keep an eye on it use something like Everest Home Edition, it'll tell you the tempreture and SMART info
