Connecting a digital movie box to my PC

Who knows if I can connect a digital cable box converter (movie box) to a Vaio desktop RZ422. I've tried to use the standard 3 connector cable (white/red/yellow) but this does not work. Should I try I-link cable??
The objective is to have a digital cable / signal imput for a TV. So somehow I have to connect it to the TV card. A standard TV is using a s-video input cable.
I hope that my question is clear.

Great I solved the problem myself.

Yes I can record any movie from the moviebox on my PC
Swith to TV or to the movie box. Record on time. Everything what I hoped works
