Battery Life

:slight_frown: I am having some problems with my VP's battery life. Basically, if I fully charge it today, turn it off and then turn it back on again in 2 or 3 days time, it will only have half battery power. I have had my VP since December, followed all the instructions when first charging it up, use it on an infrequent basis and it is not exposed to extremes of temperature.
So, I am wondering if anybody out there has any ideas?

so you are proposing that we charge it whenever we feel like and pay no attention to the battery meter?

i ve seen it myself being inaccurate a lot of times but that doesnt mean thats its completely useless does it?

It's certainly not completely useless, but it is not reliable enough for me to be able to work out how many hours I have left out of the battery.

I don't believe we should change the way we charge or use our Vaio Pockets unless it is proven that one way or another causes significant damage to the battery.

I'm simply suggesting that the problems people have experienced with the battery discharging whilst the unit is not in use may actually be due to innaccuracies in the power meter, not a problem with the battery itself.

you are absolutely right...
never thought of that even if i had a sony cd-player before this!

the only thing we should know then is ,if the people ,that had this problem with their batteries discharged after some days, are able to use their vp for long enough when this happens.

then we should be able to know whether the meter is reliable or not!

Having forgotten to charge my VP for a few days I turned it on this morning for it to tell me that it had no battery left, yet it has been playing fine for the last 5 hours:smileyconfused:

then the meter is not reliable enough!
thanks for sharing that with us tankgirltaz it really helped me, and i suppose the others,to get a clear view of the battery system and how good it works after all!

now we can listen to our music without worrying that the player will turn off any minute...
