Sony STR-DE485E - Buttons problem

Hey all.

Well...i have a Sony STR-DE485E reciever thats around 8 years old.

My problem is that whenever i push the buttons (most of them), then it dossent do what it is surposed to do.

Ex: Lets say i press the cd botton, the it goes into fm radio mode and if i press the cd button again, then it goes into cd mode.....or if i press the up/down botton to regulate the bass and trebel, then it can show everything from the sleep mode to cd mode/video mode and so on.

This is also the same with many of the other buttons, they keep jumping around through the different features of the reciever every time i press a button on the reciever.

Then you might think that it is normal wear and tear of the buttons, but ever since i got the reciever i have always used the remote, so all in all i would think that i have pressed the reciever bottons around 200 times in the last 8 years. Witch issint much, so i cant hardly be wear and tear.

Then i thought that is was the internal memory that was getting a bit funky after so many years staying with the same programmed features, so i did a reset of the memory.....but that didint help.

So now i have run out of ideas to fix this problem...! And to make the matter even more confusing, then there is absolutely no problems using the reciever features when i use the remote.

So what the hell can it be, since it only does this skipping through features with the buttons on the reciever it self and not with the remote....?

I beg of you....sony gods, please help me.
