Is 5.1 audio available over HDMI?

Hi all

Just got a new AV receiver with 4 HDMI inputs and was hoping to use the HDMI out on my beloved RDR-HXD870 for multi-channel sound and do away with the coaxial lead I was using. However, according to my amp, I'm just getting stereo; so to reiterate, can I get 5.1 audio over HDMI or not?

Hi,

yes any cable over 1.3 will deliver up to DTS-HD master audio.
