BDV-4100 no sound - optical from pc

Hello,

I want my home cinema connected to both my pc and tv. TV is connected though ARC and is working fine. The PC is connected with an optical cable but there is no sound.

If i run the optical instead from pc to tv i get sound through the home cinema but its not 5.1.

Can this not be done with the optical cable?

Any tv has only OUTPUT optical socket, you cannot deliver sound to it in this way. You have to connect your PC to TV via HDMI (both audio and video)
