Turn a page and then continues to turn page after page ....

I have a PRS-600 which has had only light use and has been extremely well looked after, it is kept stored in a Proporta Leather cover and is totally free from any damage. For some unknown reason yesterday whilst I was reading a ook and pressed the button to advance to the next page the e-reader decided that it would kindly advance to the next page, then the next, then the next - I think you get the picture. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there something I can do to rectify the problem? Or is it just a case of back to Sony for a repair (assuming the repair is cost effective)?

Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated. Paul.

Yes I had that same problem with my 600. As this was one of many faults with it I returned it and got the 650.

Doesn't help you but I seem to remember it being a fault with the reader generally. You may have to return it to Sony.

In all honesty I hated the 600 and was glad of a reason to get rid of it.

Thanks sehuxle, I'll give my local Sony Centre a call this morning to see what they can do. Paul.

On the matter of my e-reader fault with turning page after page, I did some more investigating and also attempted to synchronise it with my e-reader library on my Sony laptop. Another cause for concern was that the S/W on my laptop required updating, went to the Sony website and did that, then plugged in my e-reader, S/W didn’t pick it up and show it as a device to be synchronised. Pressed the reset button the e-reader again, plugged it back into the laptop and hey presto I was able to select it for synchronisation but I was asked if I wanted to authorise this e-reader first, was ok with that so proceeded. The e-reader synchronisation then sat in what can only be described as a “wait state”, it synchronised 5 of xxx items (where xxx is the number of items on the e-reader), it sat like this for 20 minutes, I pressed the stop synchronisation, that sat in a “wait state”, I then used task manager to close the application down. I restarted my laptop so that there was nothing else running and tried the synchronisation process again, same “wait states”, same result. I then uninstalled the e-reader S/W from my laptop, restarted it and then plugged the e-reader in, hey presto, the old version of the S/W synchronised successfully and that fixed that “problem”. I’ve also found that I have “fixed” the page turning page after page fault – well put it this way it didn’t happen last night whilst I was reading my book.
