PRS-300 disconnects the internet

Recently received a new PRS-300 as a gift. I have authorised my computer and now im trying to authorise my reader so I can put the books I've just bought onto it. However, every time I try to authorise the reader it somehow knocks out my wireless internet, and then because its broken the internet of course it cant use the internet to authorise.

The internet is fine before i try to authorise the reader but cannot detect the internet at all during or after the attempt to authorise the reader, the internet doesnt come back untill ive unplugged my wireless internet completely.

Is there any way to solve this or any other way to authorise the device? :slight_frown:

Umm..... well, the 300 hasn't been sold. to my knowledge, for quite a while now - on the normal market, anyway, there may be some around though, and you say this is new.

You don't mean PRS 350 do you ?

If so, I'm sorry to say it doesn't have wifi capability - only the T1 has that.(The 300 wasn't either)

And to use the 350 or 650, and buy from stores, you need an Adobe authorisation as well as Reader. See in you manual, or use the online [ one downloadable/readable from Sony Support.].

You won't have any joy until you do this.

Another alternative is to simply install Calibre - an ebook management system that just works, very simple and efficient. You buy books, download to PC/laptop, transfer over to Calibre, and send to reader from there.
