New laptop wont recognise PRS505 :( Can anyone help please?

Hi Folks,

Where to start? Basically Adboe reader library and the sony library cant "see" my e-book.

When i first had this laptop it couldnt see it then either so i had to re-register my e-reader and this worked perfectly and all was fine.

I downloaded a few books (last ones were from my local library) and after that? My laptop just wont find the ereader again. Ive tried deleting and re-registering again a few times, this hasnt worked.

The USB works perfectly, as my laptop knows its there and in the diagnostics page it says my ereader is working fine.

I dont know what else to try and am getting really sad! lol

Can anyone help me?

Which version of the sony software are you using?

The latest version, I've followed the Sony recommendations, inc reset and checking the version and when I checked it told me I was already usin the most recent version.

A friend had just emailed me saying that they've downloaded books from our local library too and now she's having the same problem!

Sony has two software versions. The new Reader 4 PC and the older Reader Library software

Use the older version, v3. Select support from the top of this page, enter your model, then go to downloads and go for Reader Library software . Install it and it should see your reader.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, i was already on V3, but i tried the upgrade anyway but that didnt work either.

Even the adobe digital additions program doesnt see it 😞
