Can't sync

I've just downloaded a book into my Reader library, but the software isn't recognising my device so I can't sync it across. Any ideas?

I'm hoping my reader is finally dying so that I can move on to another brand that doesn't have such rubbish software. It's been a struggle since day one and I hate it.

(Don't bother suggesting Calibre please; I've tried it and don't like it).

I've also got the orange flashing light where the red power light normally is. The battery is fully charged so I know it's not that.

Roll on Kindle ...

Update: rebooted pc, ignored Reader Installer which popped up, had to open Reader Library which didn't launch automatically, but at least it recognised the device this time and sync'd.

No idea what that was all about but I now have a book to read - and still have a Sony reader ... for the time being at least!
